Email / text messages

A crazy thought, How difficult would it be to create a text option to JFS?
Yeah, the guys that use both FSXSE or another multiplayer AND JFS. Text them to make a choice.
Yes, I know, just ignore them.
That does work, until more come in .
If I could track them down somehow, and email them to advise of what the double-up does to others, I would do that instead.

I dont want to close our hub down, I leave it up for the use of anybody who wants to use it.

I wonder if a popup type window could be created to tell the user signing in to not run FSXSE "Gamespy" anf JFS concurrently?

I think running the 2 concurrently is great.
You get the usual crew on JoinFS in Xplane or FSX and then allow new members to join you via the lobby who haven't heard of JoinFS.
You can then mention JoinFS to them.

The Auto Broadcast box isnt ticked by default.
So I would imagine people are selecting it to see what it does.

Maybe some kind of warning would be a good idea.
A user joining via the lobby would have no influence on the auto broadcast.

Maybe an "ARE YOU SURE?" warning would work.

Might be useful if the current COMS in JFS could broadcast direct messages within the sim using the in game ticker tape across the top of the screen. I think FShost use to have something similar. In its current format users only can see the messages if they open the coms menu.

I have no problem with guests, of course, what I would like is to be able to inhibit their use of AI traffic.
Its a requirement within our group to turn AI off.
More testing on FSXSE Steam Server to see what we can do there.

I shall start my session tomorrow, by hosting a session within Steam Gamespy (for want of another name) at UAAA 7PM EDT
and connect to the group with JFS. Regional airliners. HS 748 or similar.
Session will be called FLYBYWIRES open to all.
I will report back on my findings.
