Re: SimConnect Issue v1.0.14

Will just toss this out for what it is worth. I got something similar back when the JoinFS got everything in SimObjects (including my Hangar folder which the simulator did not "see"). So when I used one of these that were on the list but not available to the sim I got a series of errors th...

v1.0.16 Share Cockpit

For me this was checked when I started JoinFS (for all aircraft) even though 'Share Cockpit with Everyone' was not checked in 'Settings'. It appeared that I could not un-check this - but discovered if I clicked on 'Ignore' then this cleared the Share Cockpit box (for ALL aircraft, even though I only...

Re: Members flying/Fly Ins

Matt: You will note at the bottom of JoinFs is a 'Thanks to the CIX VFR Club' - click on that. It will take you to their web site. This is a UK-based group that might be just what you are looking for. JoinFS is an amazing connection utility and Peter has made huge advances in a very short period of ...

Re: Choosing to Share Cockpit

I'm not sure if they were truly different aircraft (I assume that if someone is generating AI aircraft they would all belong to the same person) - will do a more controlled test.

Choosing to Share Cockpit

(Third attempt to get this right - I promise to learn to type and spell!) When I click on a specific aircraft I can click the 'Share Cockpit' box to the right of the information for that aircraft. However, when I select a different aircraft the 'Share Cockpit' box is still ticked. Is this function i...

Re: Aircraft radius

I now understand - the range can be selected (light bulb, albeit dim, finally comes on!). That being the case, and knowing (or at least based on experience making an educated guess) then should the maximum not be something like 2000 NM (or even 3000 NM with the caveat, similar to your recommendation...

Re: Aircraft radius

So, with the above in mind, the radius only needs to be 5 - 50nm, or something like that? Basically as far as you can visually see from your aircraft. Peter If I understand this correctly your sim will only see aircraft that are 50 NM away (although I admit that I do not understand the 5 NM to 50 N...

Domain Name Support

This was included as of v1.0.11 and I anticipate that it will be used by the larger groups in lieu of the numerical IP address - so - to clarify some things: - Should the domain name be entered as, for example, www.domain.com or should it be http://www.domain.com (or, maybe just domain.com?)? - Can ...

Re: Aircraft radius

Thanks for the explanation. I have noticed aircraft popping in and out of the aircraft list - seems to happen when they are more than 4500 NM away. So, I vote for a 500 NM radius. I have never had any issues event with aircraft more than 1000 NM away so if you can bump it up to 500 NM without the ri...

Re: Aircraft radius

I am good with going to 300 NM. 100 NM is too small a range - here I am thinking of organized hops where you may have several aircraft spread out over a leg that is 200 to 300 NM long. My question is - what advantage does limiting range provide? I presume less server load, etc. and with that make th...

Absolutely - pending any disasters (e.g., airlift Santa from Tahiti to the North Pole, kicking and screaming  ) And who doesn't love ATC ??? :?: :?: Can I get the VOR Rwy 15 approach to EFKU (from the south, so I can fly the HILPT)? :P There have been a limited number of us doing the testing ...

Re: Not able to see pilot list

JoinFS does not re-set the focus on the Aircraft window when you select View | Aircraft. If the window is hiding behind another window then when you click View | Aircraft it seems that nothing happens. Could the same thing be true in this case? That the window was opened and minimized and just needs...

Re: v1.0.8

I did an initial test with a couple of aircraft on a server IP that I have - occasional stutter (rare) which may have been due to the other aircraft's settings (frame rate, etc) but otherwise smooth. I watched an FA-18 do a couple of rolls and all was smooth. No one did a loop for me but except for ...

v1.0.7

No problems with connecting - all variations on the theme worked. The problem is that the planes are flipping around wildly, even in straight and level flight. Just went back to v1.0.4 - no problems with the aircraft flipping around. Might have something to do with the fix for tumbling when at the t...

Re: v1.0.5 - TEST

Hi Dan, Thanks for persisting with this. You mentioned that 1.0.4 would not load. It will work. When it says that a new version is available, would you like to download it, just click 'No' and then you can continue to use 1.0.4. It would be useful to know the results of 1.0.4. Thanks, Peter What it...

Re: v1.0.5 - TEST

Thanks - I will try this but - 1. I did not need to do that before so it is not clear why that would have changed 2. There seems to be an issue affecting more than just me - see my earlier post. Not sure if it will help Dan but... I noticed you said that you were inputting your external IP to connect. As the Server is on your lan have you tried connecting with its local IP? I too connect to a server on my LAN and both external and internal addresses will connect to it. Thanks - I will try ...

Re: v1.0.5 - TEST

Peter: During a group flight with all using v1.0.6 the person running the server (and flying on that same computer) could see all aircraft. I could not see any aircraft other than the one flown by the pilot using the server. I do know that at least one other pilot could only see the server pilot, no...
