Re: Shared Cockpit - Stable v1.1.15

I will also add to this - in the observer's aircraft there is still an issue with the Brakes / Differential Brakes showing as applied even though there is no indication that brakes are in the the aircraft of the PF. On landing the PF had no brakes whatsoever. And - three others testing cockpit shari...

Shared Cockpit - Stable v1.1.15

Peter: We tested the shared cockpit functions yesterday in the 'stock' FSX Baron 58. This is what we found: Others please feel free to comment - especially regarding my view on what the co-pilot / PNF should be able to do described later in this post. When the pilot joining was only observing all of...

Re: recorder

And, if it's a new plane even if you then scanned for models I have found that if you do not restart FSX after installing the plane then you will not see it.

Re: Join FS detection range

Don't know if this helps or even pertains - but I am able to see aircraft anywhere in the world on Plan-G (NOTE - this requires a manual change in the configuration file - the maximum range you can specify directly through the Plan-G interface is 200 kM). I have no clue if simconnect is involved in ...

Re: JoinFS - First Use report from the FSX Bluebirds

This might be helpful - http://www.mediafire.com/file/i4c5rng7gm3sz1a/MultiPlayerCamMod.zip See the ReadMe pdf - simple to install and includes a backup of the original camera.cfg file (you will need to back up your current one if you have made other changes). This lets you select any plane to view ...

Peter -

Nope - didn't notice that. Not sure why I did not think of that. Will check it the next time this happens.

Thanks,

An Observation - Not Visible on Re-Start After FSX CTD

I have observed this twice over the past couple of months so believe it is a true phenomenon - only two of us flying on a private session so I am not sure what would happen if one person has an FSX CTD with regard to what others would see if there are several people in the session. Note that in both...

Re: JoinFS - First Use report from the FSX Bluebirds

Thanks Tisor. Maybe the 'magic' is that you are connecting directly to the server (not using FSOpen or similar connection). Also - we have encountered the issue that not having exactly the same aircraft will cause FSX-Steam not to allow aircraft sharing (in some cases one gauge difference or even a ...

Re: Running JoinFS on a 2nd Networked PC

Having a port forwarded always helps for any program. But I've never asked if the people I connect through have a port forwarded for JFS. The theory being JFS is using one of their ports successfully already and if the hub dropped everybody would jump to somebody else anyway. Thanks Roo - certainly...

Re: JoinFS - First Use report from the FSX Bluebirds

The Steam version of FSX comes with everything that is needed to connect. I have port 6112 forwarded (the port shown in the Network Settings screen) and get the same error whether I go through the Steam session 'Connect Directly' or the LAN 'Connect Directly' function. Based on the aircraft that com...

Re: JoinFS - First Use report from the FSX Bluebirds

They could have at least left the ability to achieve a direct connect via IP address. You can continue to do that. We at Ala 12 Virtual have never stopped using this function, also in FSX Steam Edition . Just, on Multiplayer screen, instead of selecting steam select the Local Network (The right but...

ATC Roo wrote:The way I connect Grumpy, is to connect my JOINFS client to a user that is already connected to my hub.

If that helps.
Does that not require the person you are joining to have the appropriate port forwarded on their computer?

Re: Shared cockpit procedure.

Peter: I suggest (unless there is some reason that this cannot be done - some issue with having two people in control of these functions) that you include flaps, spoilers and gear in the 'Other' category. Although it is rare for me to share an aircraft with anyone my observation has been that the PN...

Re: Chat function

I find that many people don't follow the forums and they are more of a "I'm here (on FSX) and I want to know what's going on" (without putting in a lot of effort). That's why I thought of a bulletin board-type medium. Personally I tend not to follow most forums closely enough to get an ann...

Re: Chat function

To be fair Peter I think you have listed more than I instantly thought of there. "Global message to everyone across all public hubs." Support for hyperlinks so ATC can broadcast they are active and include a ts3/discord/another VOIP system for a pilot to click and join. Agree - this could...

Re: Not on Hub List but Showing as Active in Bookmarks

Thanks for the observation Roo. I asked if the Hub mode was ticked in Settings and was told that it was as others reported that they could see the EPAV hub on the Hub list but I will double check.

Not on Hub List but Showing as Active in Bookmarks

This may be two separate issues / causes but since both can be seen with the same graphics I will cover both. First - Note on the Hub list that the EPAV Hub does not appear: http://i68.tinypic.com/2lvtp1.jpg However - if you look at the Bookmarks list (where I had some time ago bookmarked the EPAV I...

Re: Share Cockpit Functionality

We have noted several issues but will hold pending updates. We'll try to get an organized approach to troubleshooting any issues so you can have a list of things that work or do not appear to work properly.

Re: Using JoinFS in an airshow

An alternative is this modified camera.cfg file - link below. This allows you to be outside of any aircraft, pivot around using hat switch or TrackIR or whatever you like for changing your view - you can also zoom in and out using the +/- keys. (The original version has a viewpoint from inside your ...
