Re: Problem with .msi installer under wine (Linux)

I finally found some time to write a Linux Plugin for XPlane.

Details are in this post https://pmem.uk/joinfs/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=970

Xplane Plugin for Linux

I've slightly edited Peters JoinFS XPlane Plugin, so I could compile it under Linux. I don't own XPlane, but I have downloaded the XPlane Demo version and tested with that. It should work exactly the same as the XPlane Windows Plugin. If you want to give it a whirl you can get it from the link below...

Re: Virus Attacker Warning from JoinFS Map site

umm, interesting...there are literally millions of other web pages out there which don't throw such high risk warnings for ads (or any warnings at all for that matter). Might be a good idea to do it the same way everyone else is doing that. No one would begrudge ads for a free service/product...but...

Re: Virus Attacker Warning from JoinFS Map site

That looks correct as the ssl certificate is related to the hostname and not my IP.

Re: Virus Attacker Warning from JoinFS Map site

Propu.sh is to do with an advert that pops up on first load.

It's not a virus but will show you adverts if you click it.

I've got to make money to keep the map going somehow. ;)

Re: Running JoinFS on Linux

Mint is also a good one as it's based on Ubuntu. https://linuxmint-installation-guide.readthedocs.io/en/latest/burn.html 1. Download the mint iso 2. Download etcher. 3. Use etcher to put the iso on to a usb stick. 4. Boot your PC from usb and give mint a whirl. If you like it then you can click inst...

Re: Problem with .msi installer under wine (Linux)

Hi Fred, I'm afraid JoinFS isnt my baby, it belongs to Peter and any credit should be given to him. As for making JoinFS an Xplane plugin (is that what you meant?), I believe it's not possible with out a lot of work. JoinFS is written with .Net and changing everything to work with .Net core would ca...

Re: Running JoinFS on Linux

Hi Kenny. Linux is brilliant in my opinion. No bloatware that you now get with win10 and it's so configurable (if you know how). If I was somebody wanting to start out with linux for the first time I would start with Ubuntu. The only reason being is that has the most help available online, IMO. That...

Re: Problem with .msi installer under wine (Linux)

I'm working on a 64bit plugin at the moment.

I'm not far off but have very limited time to complete it.

I'll post it here once complete.
